The C5+1 Youth Council invites university students learn about global terrorism and how social media can be used to promote extremist movements and radical groups, but can also be used to counter extremist movements’ narratives. The training will examine the contemporary dimensions of terrorism and global counterterrorism, prevention of violent extremism in Central Asia and Afghanistan, countering radicalization on the internet, and analyzing the mechanisms of online recruitment to radical organizations. The sessions will be conducted by respected experts in the areas of mass media, social media, and radicalization and terrorism prevention.
